Chinese Mathematical Society (CMS) was established in Shanghai in July 1935. At the time of establishment, the organization included Board of Directors, the council and senate. The members of CMS are Tun-fu HU (胡敦復(fù)), Zuxun FENG (馮祖荀), Meiquan ZHOU (周美權(quán)), Lifu JIANG(姜立夫), King-Lai HIONG(熊慶來), Kike-Kwong CHEN (陳建功), Buchin SU(蘇步青), Tsai-han KIANG (江澤涵), Baocong QIAN (錢寶琮), Zhongsun FU (傅種孫), etc. The Academic journals they published were Journal of Chinese Mathematical Society and Journal of Mathematics. (The name of the Journal of Chinese Mathematical Society was changed to Acta Mathematica Sinica (數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)報) in 1952 and Mathematical Journal was changed to Mathematical Bulletin (數(shù)學(xué)通報)in 1953).
After the establishment of the CMS, the site was the Science Society of China, NO.533, Shaanxi Ya Er Pei Road (now Shaanxi South Road). Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, until 1998, the site of CMS was the Institute of Mathematics of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Since 1999, the site of the Chinese Mathematical Society has been changed to Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. (The Institute of Mathematics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is one of the Institute).
